What is "Weggo!"?

Weggo! is a drag and drop HTML (HyperText Markup Language) editor. It supports the creation of simple web pages using a small set of tags (commands).

What does "beta version" mean?

Whilst Weggo! generally functions as intended, it still has some bugs and usability issues which may affect your experience.

What are the system requirements?

Weggo! requires a computer or tablet with a screen width of 960 pixels or more; an internet connection; and a modern web browser with JavaScript and Local Storage capability.

Which web browsers are supported?

Current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Microsoft Edge are supported. Internet Explorer, prior to version 11, is not supported.

What age ranges is Weggo! intended for?

From KS2 and upwards, but it's a great learning tool for adult beginners too.

Can work be saved?

Work is automatically saved to your browser; you don't need to do anything - it'll be there when you return.

Does the website use cookies?

Yes. Weggo! uses Google Analytics to collect anonymous statistical data about our website visitors. We also use 'localstorage' to auto-save your work.

When I returned to the website, my work was gone

Ensure you're using the same browser on the same computer as previously. If it still doesn't appear, it could be that your browser doesn't support Local Storage; was running in "private mode"; or has been reset.

Is any personal data collected about users?

No, nothing whatsoever.

Do users need to create an account?

No. Just load it up and start.

Which HTML Tags are supported?

Headline (h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6); paragraph (p); unordered list (ul); ordered list (ol); list item (li); image (img); link (a); DIV ID and Classes.

Why are only a few Tags supported?

This is an introduction to HTML so, for simplicity, only the most commonly used Tags have been included.

Why is it called "Weggo!"?

Users create web code using Lego-like blocks. "Weggo!" = "Web" + "Lego".

Does it work on a tablet?

Yes.

Does it work on a smart phone?

Technically, yes. But a smart phone's screen is too small to be able to properly interact with the software, so it's not recommended.

Do I need to download / install "Weggo!"?

No, it runs entirely in your browser. You may wish to download and print out the tutorials though.

Why is "WLV" on each of the block connectors?

It's short for "Wolverhampton", as in the University of Wolverhampton. Weggo! was written as a student project.

Why don't some links in the output window work?

Some websites block users from viewing them inside the page of another website. Use the view page icon button to open in a new window.
